I talked to my dad last night and he said that my mom's surgery went really well. She chose an anesthesia that would allow her to recover faster, but it is giving her some nausea. She spent the night in the hospital last night, but she should be able to come home sometime today.

Ireland Stories

When I went home this past weekend, my Mom had lots of funny stories about Ireland to tell me. This one was my favorite: Apparently she really wants a puppy for Christmas and she's been asking her parents for it for a while now. My aunt Paula told her that she didn't know if it would be a very good idea to get one because they are so busy and they're not home very often and it would get lonely. To this Ireland said, " I know! We'll get TWO puppies!" hahaha She's so obviously the baby of the family!
Trip to Atlanta
This sure is a busy time of year for my family! There's been a lot of traveling going on. While Brad and Stuart were gone to Green Bay, My Dad and my uncle Mark headed off to Atlanta with a group from our church. They went to volunteer at the Operation Chrismas Child Packaging Checkpoint in Atlanta. They had a very rewarding experience, but they said that it was really hard work and they were sore for a few days afterward. Our family always participates in the Shoebox Chrismas Program. Every year each person puts together a box full of Chrismas Presents for the Shoebox Children. One year, my cousin Ryker even recieved a letter back from the child who recieved his box. Our Christmas just wouldn't be the same without participating in this event.

Christmas Candlelight
On December 3 my sorority had its annual Christmas Candlelight Service. It was my last one, so I made sure to invite all of my family. I was excited because not only did Mom, Dad, Emily, and Elyssa come, but Brad, Grandmaw, Papaw and Nana came too! It was a lot of fun to get to see them on a Monday night! Here's a picture that I took with Nana after the performance, it's amazing how much she can still do at the age of 82!
