Mom's Surgery

I talked to my dad last night and he said that my mom's surgery went really well. She chose an anesthesia that would allow her to recover faster, but it is giving her some nausea. She spent the night in the hospital last night, but she should be able to come home sometime today.

Ireland Stories

When I went home this past weekend, my Mom had lots of funny stories about Ireland to tell me. This one was my favorite: Apparently she really wants a puppy for Christmas and she's been asking her parents for it for a while now. My aunt Paula told her that she didn't know if it would be a very good idea to get one because they are so busy and they're not home very often and it would get lonely. To this Ireland said, " I know! We'll get TWO puppies!" hahaha She's so obviously the baby of the family!

Trip to Atlanta

This sure is a busy time of year for my family! There's been a lot of traveling going on. While Brad and Stuart were gone to Green Bay, My Dad and my uncle Mark headed off to Atlanta with a group from our church. They went to volunteer at the Operation Chrismas Child Packaging Checkpoint in Atlanta. They had a very rewarding experience, but they said that it was really hard work and they were sore for a few days afterward. Our family always participates in the Shoebox Chrismas Program. Every year each person puts together a box full of Chrismas Presents for the Shoebox Children. One year, my cousin Ryker even recieved a letter back from the child who recieved his box. Our Christmas just wouldn't be the same without participating in this event.

Green Bay Trip

From what I can tell, the trip to Green Bay went well, and despite some nasty weather they are back home safe and sound. I also learned from facebook the other day that BOTH Brad and Stuart are now in relationships. I am curious to meet these new girls!

Christmas Candlelight

On December 3 my sorority had its annual Christmas Candlelight Service. It was my last one, so I made sure to invite all of my family. I was excited because not only did Mom, Dad, Emily, and Elyssa come, but Brad, Grandmaw, Papaw and Nana came too! It was a lot of fun to get to see them on a Monday night! Here's a picture that I took with Nana after the performance, it's amazing how much she can still do at the age of 82!

The Boys

Here's another picture from the family shopping trip. These are my cousins Brad and Stuart. They both live in Lexington, and always keep the family functions interesting. They're huge Green Bay Packers fans, and they have a trip planned to Wisconsin within the next couple of weeks. Stay Tuned for updates on that!!!

Family Shopping Trip

We had our annual shopping trip a couple of weeks ago. We stayed at the Lexington Green like always and drove back and forth to the Fayette Mall. It is becoming a tradition that we eat the continental breakfast at the hotel on the Sunday morning of the weekend. Everyone got quite a bit of shopping done, but there's still plenty more presents to buy.

Father Daughter Tailgate

Dad came down for the Sigma Kappa Father Daughter tailgate last weekend! We had a cookout and then went to the game with all of the other girls and their dads. In this picture we're filling out a questionnaire that they gave us. It asked lots of great questions like: When has your dad embarassed you the most? or What's the most embarassing thing your dad has done to one of your dates? it was real fun!

Ireland Hermione

This is one of my very favorite people, Ireland Hermione! Ireland and I have been best friends for 5 years now. We like to go swimming, bowling, and to the movies together. We have tea parties every couple of months and play Barbies on a regular basis.

Emily Michele

This is my sister Emily. She's at Georgetown with me now! It's great because neither one of us has to EVER drive home alone! We laugh a lot whenever we are together. We really like to watch movies and eat chips and cheese dip! We are currently both learning to salsa dance.

Papaw Billy D.

This is me and my Papaw! When he is not bulldozing we like to go to the Dairy Freeze and get ice cream together. I get a brown derby and he likes the homemade banana soft serve!

Mom and Dad

These are my parents! They are very silly and fun! In this picture we are on the way to Louisville for Dad's awards banquet for work. And, yes, they are toasting with sprite and diet coke in their champagne glasses! Dad was sales manager of the year and we got to ride in a limosuine all the way from Lebanon to Louisville. We all thought we were pretty special.

The Holt Family

This is my family on Easter! We like this holiday because we get new outfits for church, but Dad tends to complain about the fact that the new outfit always includes not only a new dress, but new shoes and jewelry as well! The Easter Bunny always brings us fun surprises and lots of candy! Dove Chocolate Eggs and Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs are our favorites.
